Hello
We each have a story. Typically, we tell them with words and forget the wealth of information only the eyes can supply. I first picked up a camera because it was the best way I could figure out to preserve those details of vision that give meaning to our stories. It was a way to show just exactly how the sunset could ignite the water or to cherish how grand/incredible/hysterical/precious/bizarre/gritty our lives can be.
I've had the privilege to work under a handful of noteworthy mentors including David Alan Harvey of National Geographic, Magnum, and Burn Magazine; photojournalist Ken Bennett formerly of Black Star; The White House Photography Office and the photography department at BACKPACKER Magazine. I hold degrees in Politics and International Affairs; and Studio Art from Wake Forest University. I am proficient in the Spanish language and have experience working internationally.
I'm currently living in Winston Salem, NC where I've founded Red Cardinal Studio. I am available for work in North Carolina as well as destination assignments.
